Saks Appeal everywhere at Dubai fashion gala

When Saks Fifth Avenue’s new men’s concept store cruised into town it was going to large, lavish and extra-special. A must-attend ‘discovery party’ preceded a superb catwalk show, both held right outside the store at The Walk, Jumeirah Beach Residence.

Over 300 guests were welcomed to the pre-show cocktail. Lit balloons sporting directional arrows hovered above the many Saks Fifth Avenue VIP customers who attended. The concepts of direction, momentum and urban savvy were highlighted by the arrows, map graphics and policewomen(!)/hostesses.

Guests soaked up the balmy evening weather while sipping Saks Appeal cocktails before being wowed by a high-octane fashion show, revealing this season’s key looks from a myriad of designers including Dolce and Gabbana, Diesel, Christian Lacroix and John Galliano.

Models strutted their stuff on an outdoor catwalk which swept around the curve of the store and offered a glimpse into Dubai’s future landscape via the map-covered runway. Saks Fifth Avenue opened the 15,000 square foot men’s concept store in The Walk, JBR to offer men of Dubai a dedicated shopping experience - just for them. With JBR fast becoming one of Dubai’s top retail destinations, the men’s store, situated on the Plaza level, aims to be the anchor store for this retail haven.

The store brings together Saks Fifth Avenue’s unique strengths of product and service excellence that Saks customers in the existing Dubai store are already well accustomed to. Two dedicated men’s buyers have been hired in order to ensure that the men’s store will offer an eclectic and luxurious collection suited to local tastes and preferences.

The Men’s Store is its first dedicated retail men’s store in the region and offers a wealth of collections for designer apparel, shoes and accessories from across the globe.

Inside you’ll find dedicated corners for Dolce & Gabbana, Christian Dior, Lanvin, Duchamp, John Galliano, John Richmond and Ralph Lauren. There’s also Charvet shirts & ties, D&G, Christian Lacroix, Nina Ricci, Hickey Freeman, Z Zegna, John Varvatos, Alexander McQueen, Jean Paul Gautier, Rock n Republic, Diesel, Antik Denim, Citizens of Humanity, Just Cavalli, and Juicy Couture.

Shoes are available from Prada, Tods, Puma, Dolce & Gabbana, and Dior. Men’s denim can be found from Jean Paul Gaultier, Rock n Republic, Diesel, Antik Denim, Citizens of Humanity, Just Cavalli and Juicy Couture. The Men’s Store also stocks the best of niche fragrances and skincare for men, as well as beachwear and sunglasses. Leather goods from Tumi, Prada, Dior, and Dolce & Gabbana are also available.

And for the elegantly dressed man, cuff links from Tatession, Faberge, and Links of London with fine watches from Vacheron Constantin, Parmigiani, Roger Dubuis, Favre Leuba, Bell & Ross.

Men can also take advantage of the Men’s VIP Club which offers personal shopping services, spacious fitting rooms and a lounge area equipped with wireless internet.
